I'll Soon Be an Indoor Cat

We're moving and I'll become an indoor cat. Although we love living out here in a beautiful setting, the lady says we have to "downsize" (sheesh, she already lives in a 700 square foot cottage). We're moving to a little studio in Cambria within the next 30 to 60 days. She says I have to become a total indoor cat (although there is an enclosed brick patio where she will put my chair and she will "think about" letting me out there, maybe).

So, we won't be posting or visiting blogs very often over the next month or two, but we will try to keep you updated.

Here are some photos of me from two days ago. I'm enjoying the sun and thinking about the future.

Well, the upside will be that you won't have a balcony to fall...uh, be pushed off of.

Good luck, paws crossed. We moved into our house when we were adopted and haven't moved since, though we think it might be a fun adventure (Nicki) or freaking scary (Derry).

I would LOVE to live in a cottage! An enclosed brick porch sounds delightful!! We will miss you but will eagerly anticipate your return!

Well, an enclosed brick porch is more than WE get! We are all indoor cats, because we live on a very busy 5 point intersection, with lots of traffic. We all feel pretty lucky, though. Wilbur was rescued from the streets, so he's had enough outside adventures. Louie is very happy to have a home. And Skootch is too much of a 'fraidy cat to want out, although he has had a few inadvertent escapes. At least your lady loves you dearly and is taking you with her, which doesn't always happen when cats' families move.
We hope the move goes well. Post when you can!

That's a bummer you will lose your outdoor space, Mr. Black! I hope the move is not too traumatic for you!

Mr Black, we hope you at least get to go outside a little bit when your bean is out there.

If the fence is high enough, maybe the lady can put screening over the top or put a horizontal extension on the top to keep you safe out there.

Ditto what every other cat said. It will be an adjustment(in so many ways) but it's not all bad being indoors. Purrs for a smooth move!

Mr. Black,
Thank you for the wonderful warm greeting on my blog.

I know how it is to be a former outdoor cat. To tell you the truth, I don't miss it a bit. It's tough out there. It looks like you have a wonderful family though, which I didn't have when I was an outdoor cat before I was rescued.

Purrs,
Styx

PS. Ms. C says good luck to you and your family with your move and we hope to hear from you soon.

No matter where you are, in or out, you will be King. Remember that! Being indoors is fine--I watch sidewalk/people/pigeon/dog TV (honestly, I'd rather not interact with 99% of them anyway), I eat, I play with my toys, I irritate the Human, I nap near the glorious radiator, I climb my tower and chill in my tent. Life is good.

We'll miss you while your Human is so busy, King Mr. B. Make sure she doesn't get all lay-zee like the Humans do and stop helping you blog though! You gotta be back as soon as you're settled!

Stacy Hurt said...

Oh Mr. Black, I wouldn't worry about not bein' allowed outside. As long as you can get direct sun in on your furs from somewhere.

Whew! I was glad you turned up in my comments today, Pal. I was starting to get worried your Human was not going to live up to her blogging contract with you. Glad to see you "reminded" her. Is she still bleeding?
