Through a Glass Stupidly
The lady was pretty sneaky today with the camera. She decided to take a few photos through the window. I am happy to say that they really did not turn out that well.
In the first one, the reflection of her finger makes it look like a giant ghost-finger is touching me.
In the second one, I gave a big old yawn to let her know how fascinated I was by this new twist on stealth photography.
Two more ornaments to share. The lady bought both of these a few years back.
Spitty the Kitty requested to see more cat ornaments, so the first one is a kitty angel in her red holiday nightgown. There are two photos to show it in all its cuteness.
The second ornament is...a...dog. It is the only dog on the tree. Why on earth would the lady buy a dog ornament for my tree?! Maybe she had too much catnip wine. Or, she smoked some catnip. Something.

After the Fall
I'm feeling fine today. Last night, just before bedtime, I was staring at the spot on the ground where I landed, and the lady says my pupils were large. I was definitely looking for the culprit that pulled me over the edge; I was sure he must be hiding nearby. I complained to the lady that I didn't want to go inside until I captured the suspect, but she convinced me that I should come in out of the rain.
Today is a new day and I have forgotten all about my mishap yesterday. This morning I did a head rub against a deck post, and late this afternoon, I was again sitting in my favorite spot.
Here are a couple of ornaments. The first one is an ornament plate by Royal Copenhagen that the lady's brother gave her in 1987.
This second ornament is a big old flying frog. The lady thinks she purchased it about six years ago.

I Fell Off the Balcony Railing (I'm Okay!)
There is a section of the balcony railing that I like to sit on when it is rainy (usually when there is a break in the rain or maybe just a light rain is falling). It is under the eave of the house, so it is a nice dry spot for me to survey some of the area down below. As I mentioned in a post from last week, I have quite the cozy spot in the garage to stay when it is raining. But, the lady knows I do NOT like to be cooped up, so she leaves the door propped open with some bricks (just wide enough from me to go in and out) so that I can check things out when there is a break in the rain. I'm not sure what happened today. It has been very rainy and very windy and when I jumped up on the railing, I slipped.
I think a strong gust of wind hit me. I tried to dig my claws in, but I fell off.
The lady was inside the house and did not realize right away what had happened. She heard some sounds on the balcony like a thud and scrape, but that is not unusual because I like using that wicker chair as a scratching post and I sometimes get the crazies and hang onto the wooden shutter or window screen, and even kick that big old chair around. But something about it did not sound quite right to the lady so she came out onto the balcony. She said, "Mr. Black, are you okay? Where are you?" I then came running up the stairs and I had mud on my head and other parts of me. She knew right then that I had fallen and she was very distressed and started checking me all over, feeling my legs and tummy and back and talking to me in a very soothing voice. The only thing wrong with me was that I had shredded the sheathing on the claws of my left foot. I was walking okay and everything. I was a little shaken up and wouldn't leave the lady's side. She wiped the mud off of me, but as you can see from the photos, she missed a little.
She made an inspection of the railing where I fell from, and where I landed (luckily, I landed in soft mud and not on some bricks surrounding the cypress tree nearby). It was pretty soft there, and cleared of rocks because the lady had recently dug a trench and buried some pvc pipe in there. That was lucky for me!
She made a big fuss over me for quite a while, and gave me some treats and some of my favorite kibble. That was enough excitement for one day. I'm taking a nap on my big pile of comforters.

It's Still Raining
It has been raining every day since Wednesday and it will continue until Monday. This is me pausing on the steps. I was in my Igloo on the balcony, but I decided to follow the lady down to the garage to snoopervise laundry sorting.
Here are some ornaments. The first is my favorite ornament. I also like bird ornaments, but these mice crack me up because they are so obviously full of themselves.
Here is an ornament given to the lady by her brother. It is a crystal with a sterling silver partridge on it.
And one more. This is a sparkly nest with a cardinal that the lady sticks way back in the branches.

Stormy Weather
It is very windy and rainy today. I have a cozy set-up in the garage for just such occasions. I have a bed that is made up of four folded comforters (two large and two small) and a soft pad. Usually this bed is on top of the roof of the car (I call it my "car-bed"), but if the lady has to drive somewhere, she puts the bed on top of the dryer. I also get a little extra food on rainy days, to help make up for the fact that I don't have too much to do.
My garage is very much like the inside of the house...it has drywall and insulation. I also have a "Booda" litter box in there.
Here are two ornaments. The first is a set of five minature "Keepsake" ornaments which are cast metal with enamel paint. The lady put a dime next to them so you can see how small they are. These were given to her by her brother in 2004.
The second ornament is a Swarovski Crystal gingerbread man. It has a lot of facets and really sparkles, but the lady couldn't quite capture that in the photographs. This was also a gift from her brother, but she can't remember the date.

The Elusiveness of Me
I did a great job of avoiding the camera today.
Today's ornaments: The clear glass one was given to the lady by her brother in the 80's (she thinks; she now wishes she had written the dates on the boxes). The photo doesn't do it justice. It is very fragile and thin glass that looks like one of those bubbles kids blow from the little hand-held plastic ring and soap.
The second ornament is one given to the lady by her friend Julie. That funny looking cat is wearing high heels. The ornament was designed by Patience Brewster who is known for her whimsical designs.
