Rain, rain and more rain. I'm unable to complete my appointed rounds. It is very boring. There was a small break so I was checking out the area from my favorite spot on the balcony railing. Then, it started to rain again, so I had to get down. I complained about the rain to the lady AGAIN and she did nothing. She's worthless.

This, That and the Other
Well, it has been raining steadily since Friday. There are no new photos of me, but here are a couple from last week and a few weeks ago.
On Friday, the lady went with some friends to the Cambria Christmas Market held on the grounds of the Cambria Pines Lodge. This is the first year for the event which started right after Thanksgiving and ends today. There were gorgeous lights strung everywhere. The lady took some photos with her itty bitty camera. If you click on the link above (Cambria Christmas Market) you will see a slide show at the top of the page that has some really nice photos of the lights. It was raining on the night the lady went, so most of the photos she took did not turn out very well. But, the rain kept a lot of people away, so it wasn't too crowded.

She'll Never Give Up
I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that the lady will never give up trying to take photos of me. Today she resorted to trying to get me to sniff the camera (wasn't interested). She then rubbed it on me as if she was brushing me (oh, puh-leeze).
Her latest photog tactics include slightly crouching, lowering the camera, pointing it in my general vicinity and hoping for the best. The first four of those photos were nothing but black blurs as I moved around, but then she got a few decent ones. Finally, she sat in MY chair, slowly lowered the camera and got two photos of my face.
I'm resigned to my fate.

The Sun Came Out Today
It was rainy and cold on Saturday, Sunday, and yesterday. So when the sun came out today, I was very happy. I checked out a few things and then took a little rest under my chair.
This morning at 7:15 a.m. |
I've got to see what's what. |
Just below my miniature garden. Looking up the hill to check for interlopers. |
I turned my face away just before the lady took the photo (what a surprise) |

Me and the Tree
One photo taken with a flash, the other two without. The two taken without the flash are a little blurry even though the lady thought she was holding the camera very still.

Thankful Thursday
I'm thankful for being brushed often. Especially along my upper back because I can't reach that area.
I'm also thankful that I have good teeth.
I lifted my tongue so you could check out my bottom teeth. |

Castles in the Sky
I took a little walk over to Hearst Castle today. It is not too far away from where we live so I thought I'd go check it out. The lady has been there a few times but she has never taken me. I knew I wouldn't be allowed on any of the guided tours, so I decided to meander around on my own. Here are a couple of the photos. I'll show you more in upcoming days.
Two ornaments. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.
A kitty holding an ornament.
P.S. A correction regarding yesterday's little kitty ornament. It is a Ganz kitty, not Gund. Her name is "TuTu."
Here I am gazing up at the main part of the castle. |
This is the gothic study. I thought I saw a mouse run under the table. |

Chair-man of the Bored
I depend on the lady to come up with stuff for my blog. She has times when she is fairly creative and other times, like now, not so much. So we have, yet again, photos of me and my chair. I'm getting a bit bored with the whole thing, too. I will demand that if she can't come up with something in real life, she'll have to Photoshop me into more interesting environments. Until then....
Today's ornament is a tiny Ganz kitty. She is wearing a little dress, has an itty-bitty heart necklace and a small crown. Her legs and arms move. A friend gave me this ornament back in the 90's. The tag that came with her describes her as part of the "artist designed" miniatures from "Cottage Collectibles by Ganz."
I was sleeping under my chair and the lady woke me up. |
Peeking through the rails, looking for birds. |
Leave me in peace. Please. |

Victory is Mine!
The lady gave in and moved the chair back to where I wanted it. She wedged it in the corner and put a small piece of wood under one slightly-shorter-than-the-rest leg so that it would not wobble. Then she got the bright idea of taking a seat cushion she had stored in the garage and putting it on the chair for my "comfort." I refused to get on the chair with that thing on it. Finally, she removed it. The first thing I did was to jump up on my chair and then onto the "danger" railing. Then, after what I deemed to be sufficient begging and groveling by the lady, I got on the chair and rubbed my scent all over it, because who knows what sort of stink it picked up when it was 15 feet away for two days.
Here are two ornaments. The first is a small, glittery pinecone box that has a little bunny hidden in it. You can hang the ornament open or closed.
The second is a personal favorite. It is a black cat ballet dancer in mid-leap.

Musical Chairs
The lady has moved my favorite chair (the wicker one) from the corner near the balcony railing to way over by the door. I'm not happy about this AT ALL because that chair was in the perfect spot for me. It faced the morning sun and it was backed up into the corner so I could see any interlopers coming up the stairs.
The lady says she moved it because she thinks it may have had something to do with me falling off the balcony railing the other day.
Let me explain: I use this wonderful chair as a gigantic scratching post. I usually scratch the seat or I will stand on the arm and scratch it. But, the day after my fall, the lady saw me standing on the balcony railing and scratching and pulling at the top of the chair. Since I am a "he-man power-cat," I was making the chair move. She thinks that on the day that I fell, I was scratching the top of the chair and then I lost my balance on the wet railing and fell off. She is sure the scraping sound of the chair moving is one of the things she heard before I fell.
I have not used the chair since it was moved. I've been rubbing up against it, but instead of sleeping on it, I have been napping on the deck where the chair used to be. The lady said she might try moving it again, but there are not a lot of options on the small, narrow balcony.
Here is a photo of me from yesterday. The lady took it through the screen door. You can see that I am a multi-tasker; my ear is turned toward the steps in case anyone tries to sneak up on me.
Lastly, here is another ornament. It is "...the cat and the fiddle." The other side shows "...and the cow jumped over the moon," but I don't see any need to show that side.
