Musical Chairs

The lady has moved my favorite chair (the wicker one) from the corner near the balcony railing to way over by the door. I'm not happy about this AT ALL because that chair was in the perfect spot for me. It faced the morning sun and it was backed up into the corner so I could see any interlopers coming up the stairs.

The lady says she moved it because she thinks it may have had something to do with me falling off the balcony railing the other day.

Let me explain: I use this wonderful chair as a gigantic scratching post. I usually scratch the seat or I will stand on the arm and scratch it. But, the day after my fall, the lady saw me standing on the balcony railing and scratching and pulling at the top of the chair. Since I am a "he-man power-cat," I was making the chair move. She thinks that on the day that I fell, I was scratching the top of the chair and then I lost my balance on the wet railing and fell off. She is sure the scraping sound of the chair moving is one of the things she heard before I fell.

I have not used the chair since it was moved. I've been rubbing up against it, but instead of sleeping on it, I have been napping on the deck where the chair used to be. The lady said she might try moving it again, but there are not a lot of options on the small, narrow balcony.

Here is a photo of me from yesterday. The lady took it through the screen door. You can see that I am a multi-tasker; my ear is turned toward the steps in case anyone tries to sneak up on me.

Lastly, here is another ornament. It is "...the cat and the fiddle." The other side shows "...and the cow jumped over the moon," but I don't see any need to show that side.

Hope your chair gets moved back as it was. I can't imagine a man cat like your self "slipping off". Maybe there was a gust of wind.

Goose

Humans just don't think things through - if yours was really on top of things, she would figure out a way to keep the chair in its former (preferred) spot, but make it safe for you to scratch and not fall off! I know, it might take a bit of ingenuity to come up with a solution, but aren't humans famous for that?

I simply cannot stand it when furniture gets moved. And it's always done without our permission!

Well, talk about ruining your good times!! Maybe you can start balancing on the rail in front of your purrson...notably when it is raining...and then she will move the chair back when she realizes you won't have it to fall on in case you slip...you have to be ahead of her Mr. Black!! We can help with more ideas...

Humans and their pernicious meddling. Clearly the chair needs to go back where it WAS and a safety trampoline installed beneath the railing for any unexpected vaults.

You need to tell her that you totally meant to 'fall'. We pussycats are far too graceful to do something like that! Then maybe she'll put your chair back...

This time of year all sorts of stuff gets moved around to make room for that big tree that the peeps put up and all the other "decorations." We hate having our stuff moved around so we make sure we play with all the decorations...'specially that tree.

Oh, Mr. Black. Nothing is worse than having your favorite chair moved. Hate when things are not the same. Hopefully she will take the HINT and move your chair back where you like it.

I am super glad that the lady moved the chair! You will adjust, it will just take time. She loves you and is looking out for your safety! NONE of us want you to fall!
Your ornament is BEAUTIFUL and we agree...no need to show the cow!

Well, being that you are royalty and all, I am sure you did not fall off, you just took the express way down!

Maybe she could just put a mattress below that part of the railing, MOL! Or better yet, a NET like they want to put under the Golden Gate Bridge, MOL x2!!!
